.Healthy Farms and Healthy Schools Grants Available for
2008-2009 School Year
The
purpose of the Healthy Farms and Healthy Schools Program is
to educate
kindergartners and their families about the importance of
choosing healthy,
locally produced foods while increasing awareness of
Pennsylvania agriculture.
Any
Pennsylvania school district, charter school or private
school with a kindergarten program is
eligible to apply for the Healthy Farms and Healthy Schools
funds.
A maximum of $15,000 may be awarded to applicants and a 25%
match is required, either in the
form of monetary or in-kind expenditures. This grant is available from the
PA Department of Agriculture
and the application deadline is June 17, 2008.
