You're invited to a party! Come to enjoy a meal with your fellow RDs. Participate in a great networking opportunity, learn how to talk to your elected officials and earn 2.5 hours continuing education credits (1.5 from ADA, 1.0 from PADA). All this for free!
We want you to be part of building strong grassroots advocacy for our profession. We want you to be active in the political process by informing elected officials about the importance of RD expertise. We want legislators to pressure Highmark to reimburse RD services. We hope to encourage elected officials to vote for child nutrition programs. We need our legislators to require RD services for obesity interventions via legislation. We need to make this commitment now, or our jobs will be taken by other disciplines, such as fitness trainers, nurses, pharmacists (they are doing counseling now), dentists (some of them are pushing dietary supplements), etc.
